Food and Beverage Internship

 

The F-M RedHawks have openings for Food & Beverage Interns for the 2008 season. Internships may begin as early as April and extend into September. Students pursuing a degree in Business Administration (or related field) are preferred, but not required.

 

Duties of the Food & Beverage Intern include, but not limited to:

 

•  Responsible for the pre-game setup of concession stands

•  Inventory of food items prior to each game

•  Stocking and organizing concession stands

•  Train and supervise all game-day concessions staff

•  Assist in food/beverage sales on game nights

•  Work with Director of Group Sales to coordinate picnics and birthdays

•  Cleaning and closing concession stands after games

•  Having Fun!!!

 

Newman Outdoor Field is home to the F-M RedHawks and North Dakota State University baseball teams. The stadium hosts 50 Northern League games along with 12 NDSU Division I games a year, as well as the Fargo Blues Festival and a few concerts. The RedHawks are preparing to host the 2007 Northern League All-Star Game as well as the 2009 American Legion World Series.

 

We will be hiring 2 interns for this position. This is a paid position and school credit is available.

Sports Turf Intership

Positions: The F-M RedHawks have openings for sports-turf interns for the

2008 season. Internships may begin as early as March and extend into October. Evening,

weekend, and holiday hours are required. These are paid, salary positions. People pursuing a degree in turf-management (or related field) are preferred, but it is not a requirement.

Job Description: RedHawks sports-turf interns will have the opportunity to learn the

comprehensive aspects of maintaining a professional facility. Hands-on experience will

be gained while working in a team environment.

Duties will include

 

Playing Field: The surface is a mix of Kentucky Blue and Perennial Rye growing on a sand based field. The turf and skin are maintained using John Deere equipment. The field is equipped with underground drainage and an irrigation system.

Newman Outdoor Field: The stadium is home to the F-M RedHawks and North Dakota State University . Newman Field host 50 Northern League games along with 20 Division I games a year. Newman Field also hosts a blues fest and a few concerts a year. The RedHawks will also be preparing for the American Legion World Series in 2009. Which will be a weeklong tournament played at Newman Field.
