The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks opened the home portion of the pre-season schedule with a 5-2 victory over the New Jersey Black Sox on Monday night at Newman Outdoor Field.
The RedHawks drew first blood in the game, getting a pair of runs in the bottom of the second inning thanks to an RBI double from Brian Humphries. Humphries would come around to score on an error and a wild pitch later in the inning. The Black Sox scored single runs in the third and fourth innings to tie the game 2-2.
In the seventh inning, Fargo-Moorhead put the game away with three runs. Josh Mazzola started the scoring with an two-run single and later scored on a wild pitch. It would be all the runs the RedHawks would need.
