T-Bones Score Late, Top RedHawks

Yosandy Ibanez pitched well but took the loss Sunday
The Kansas City T-Bones (14-19) prevented a three-game sweep tonight with an 8-2 win over the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks (15-17) in front of 5,125 fans at CommunityAmerica Ballpark in Kansas City, KS on Sunday evening.

After two scoreless innings, Cody McAllister (2-0) gave up a single to Zach Penprase to begin the third.  Penprase moved to second on a throwing error on an attempted pickoff by McAllister and scored on an RBI single by Nic Jackson, giving the RedHawks a 1-0 advantage.

Aharon Eggleston singled off Yosandy Ibanez (1-3) to start the T-Bones half of the third and scored on a two-run home run by Damian Rolls.  Greg Jacobs reached on an infield single and moved to second when Brad Correll was hit by a pitch.  An infield single by Jim Fasano sent Jacobs to third and a throwing error by Ibanez allowed him to score, extending the T-Bones lead to two.

A one-out solo home run by Alan Rick in the sixth brought the RedHawks within one, but McAllister retired the next two batters to end the inning.  McAllister earned the win, surrendering two runs, one earned, on five hits over six innings in his first professional start.

After retiring Mark Minicozzi to begin the bottom of seventh, Ibanez issued a walk to Jeff Helps.  Ibanez left following Helps’ at-bat in favor of Adam Rowe.  Rowe walked Eggleston, the only batter he faced.  Mike Finocchi replaced Rowe but was ejected after hitting Rolls with a pitch.  Matt Mossey took the mound for Fargo with the bases loaded and one out and was greeted with a grand slam by Jacobs that pushed the score to 7-2.  Correll walked following Jacobs’ blast and moved to third on a single by Fasano.  He added the final run of the game when he scored on an RBI single by Craig Hurba.

Daniel Sattler started the seventh for Kansas City and threw two scoreless innings, striking out three.  Nate Cotton added a scoreless inning of his own to finish the game for the T-Bones.

Ibanez took the loss after allowing four runs, three earned, on eight hits in six and two-thirds innings.
