Pitching & Power Lead RedHawks to Win

Ryan Stovall hit a solo home run in the third and Ryan Delgado hit a three-run home run in the sixth to lead the Fargo Moorhead RedHawks to a 4-1 victory over the Kansas City T-Bones on Thursday, June 07, 2012 at Newman Outdoor Field.

RedHawks starting pitcher Paul Burnside pitched solid early, going 1-2-3 through the first two innings of the T-Bones lineup and striking out five hitters in his first three innings.

The RedHawks would strike first in the third. With one out, Fargo-Moorhead third baseman Ryan Stovall hit a first-pitch homerun over the left field fence off T-Bones starter Brian Grening to give Fargo-Moorhead an early 1-0 lead.

Fargo-Moorhead extended their lead in the sixth. After two-out walks to Nic Jackson and Sergio Perdoza, Ryan Delgado hit a 0-2 pitch out of the ballpark to give the RedHawks a 4-0 lead.

Burnside would be relieved in the seventh by Kevin Fuqua and Joe Harris. Kansas City got their first run in the game that inning after a groundout by Jose Duran scored Trevor Coleman, cutting the RedHawk lead to 4-1.

The RedHawk bullpen finished out the eighth and ninth giving up only one hit behind the arms of Harris and Tom Boleska.

He improved his record to 2-2. Tom Boleska picked up his fifth save this season after working the last 1 1/3 innings.

Brian Grening pitched a complete game but picked up the loss for Kansas City, giving up four earned runs on four hits. His record dropped to 2-2.
