The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks will open defense of their fourth Northern League Championship on Friday, May 21, 2010 at Newman Outdoor Field against the Joliet JackHammers, the club announced today.
The Northern League schedule has been expanded to 100 games in 2010, meaning the RedHawks will have 50 regular season home games at Newman Outdoor Field. Highlights of the new schedule include eight home weekend series, six Friday night post-game fireworks displays, three Thursday afternoon Business Day games and one School Day game in late May.
The Northern League has expanded to eight teams for 2010. The Lake County Fielders will make their Fargo debut with a four-game series from May 24-27. The Rockford RiverHawks will play their first series at Newman Outdoor Field from June 28-July 1. Every team in the Northern League will make two visits to Fargo this season.
Standard games times remain unchanged from 2009. Monday-Friday games will start at 7:02 p.m., courtesy of 702 Communications. First pitch on Saturdays will be 6:00 p.m., while Sunday afternoon games will start at 1:00 p.m.
