FARGO, N.D. – The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks have signed RHP Trevor Longfellow to a contract. Longfellow will make his professional debut as tonight’s starting pitcher for Fargo-Moorhead as they wrap up a four-game series against the Lincoln Saltdogs at Haymarket Park in Lincoln, NE.
Longfellow, 22, completed his college career this spring at California State University-San Bernardino. He was 1-2 with a 2.67 ERA in 20 games. Longfellow pitched 33.2 innings and allowed 11 runs (ten earned) on 30 hits. He struck out 38 batters and walked 16. Longfellow had most recently pitched for the San Diego Force team that was competing in the National Baseball Congress World Series in Wichita, KS. With San Diego, he was a teammate of RedHawks RHP Jordan Hartley.
For the Force this summer, Longfellow was 7-2 with a 1.35 ERA in ten games (eight starts). He pitched 53.1 innings and allowed 11 runs (eight earned) on 38 hits while notching 57 strikeouts. He picked up a win in his only start at the NBC World Series after pitching 5.2 innings of shutout baseball against the Omaha Diamond Spirits.
