RedHawks Release 2009 Schedule The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks will open the 2009 Northern League season on Friday, May 15 against the Gary SouthShore RailCats at 7:00 p.m. at Newman Outdoor Field in Fargo, N.D. Standard game times for the 2009 season are 7:00 p.m. on Monday-Friday, 6:00 p.m. on Saturdays and 1:00 p.m. on Sundays.
The 48-game regular season schedule is highlighted by five Fireworks Friday Nights (May 15, June 12, July 3, July 24, August 21), three Thursday Business Day games (June 25, July 23, August 27) and our 3rd annual School Day Game (Thursday, May 21/11:00 a.m. start) geared for local students.
The RedHawks will be home for eight weekend series in 2009, including the Fourth of July holiday weekend. Fargo-Moorhead will play on Saturday, July 4th game at 2:00 p.m.
Fargo-Moorhead will face the Gary SouthShore RailCats 12 times at Newman Outdoor Field, most of any team in 2009. Rival Winnipeg Goldeyes will make the trip to Fargo-Moorhead nine times, as will the Joliet JackHammers. The defending Northern League Champion Kansas City T-Bones will visit 11 times, while the Schaumburg Flyers will play seven times at Newman Outdoor Field.
In 2009, the RedHawks will also play host to the American Legion World Series at Newman Outdoor Field on August 14-18. The Fargo Blues Fest is scheduled for Friday, July 31 and Saturday, August 1.
“We are very happy with the way our schedule lays out for 2009,” said RedHawks General Manager Josh Buchholz. “We are currently working on our promotional schedule now that we have dates and anticipate an exciting, fun-filled summer at the ballpark. We are excited to get our fans back in the stadium next summer."
