FARGO, ND – The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks have signed OF Dusty Robinson to a contract. Robinson will be in the line-up tonight when the RedHawks continue their four-game series against the Winnipeg Goldeyes at Shaw Park in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Robinson, 24, was with the Stockton Ports of the California League (High-A) this year, where he was batting .230 with 14 doubles, one triple, eight home runs and 28 RBIs in 66 games played. In 2013 with Stockton, Robinson batted .210 with 16 doubles, three triples, 21 home runs, 64 RBIs and 67 runs scored in 123 games.
Robinson was originally signed by the Oakland Athletics after being drafted in the tenth round in 2011 out of Fresno State University. In three-plus seasons in the A’s chain, he has batted .226 with 58 doubles, ten triples, 64 home runs and 194 RBIs in 369 games played.
The RedHawks have released RHP Danny Gutierrez. Gutierrez was 2-3 with a 5.36 ERA in 11 games (six starts) this season.
