After the walk-off loss on Monday night, the RedHawks made sure that didn’t happen again by stifling the bats of the Texas AirHogs in a 4-1 victory. Tyler Alexander pitched seven stellar innings, carried a no-hitter into the 6th, and ended up only giving up one run while striking out seven. He earned his first win of the season and Travis Ballew closed the game out for his third save.

Josh Mazolla and Brian Humphries built an early lead for the road team by knocking in three runs on a pair of doubles in the first innning. Mazolla’s scored Chad Mozingo and Ryan Pineda, and Humphries’ allowed Mazolla to reach home.

The pitcher for the AirHogs, Cody Hebner, settled in after a rocky first inning and only allowed two hits in the next four innings. There wasn’t any offense in the game until the sixth when the RedHawks stretched their lead out with Kes Carter hitting a double and later scoring on a single by K.D. Kang.

Alexander dominated the AirHogs throughout those first six innings, only allowing two hits. In the seventh however, Burt Reynolds took a full count pitch and turned it into a triple. He later scored on a sacrifice fly by Austin Gallagher to tighten the game back up. That’s all the offense Alexander would allow though, he struck out two batters after that to retain control of the game. Colton Reavis came in the eighth inning and earned a hold for the RedHawks while striking out two. Then in the ninth, despite allowing hits to Reynolds and Gallagher, Ballew got the next three batters out to end the game.

The RedHawks (3-3) and the AirHogs (3-3) will finish the three game series tomorrow at AirHogs Stadium in Grand Prairie, Texas, at 10:00 a.m.
