CLEBURNE, Texas (5/24/17)---The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks got another great pitching performance in route to a 7-1 win Wednesday morning sweeping the Cleburne Railroaders. Jose Almarante went seven strong innings giving up just one run, five hits, two walks, while striking out ten.
The RedHawks carried a 2-1 lead into the top of the fourth thanks to a pair of solo shots, one in the second by K.D. Kang and one by Charlie Valerio in the third, before exploding offensively in the frame for 4 runs.
Cleburne starter Brandon Quintero, who gave up just one run over five innings in his first start, gave up six runs on nine hits with a walk and six strikeouts over 3.2 innings. Alberto Rodriguez, making his Cleburne Railroader debut, gave up just one run over two hits with a walk and three strikeouts over 5.1 innings of relief work for the Railroaders.
The Fargo-Moorhead bullpen continued its dominance today. Jose Nivar pitched a scoreless 8th and Will Solomon pitched a scoreless 9th keeping the RedHawks’ bullpen ERA at 0.00.
