FARGO, ND (8/12/17) --- The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks dropped a five run lead in a 12-5 loss to the Gary Southshore RailCats Saturday night.
The RedHawks jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the third inning thanks to an RBI single by Devan Ahart. Fargo-Moorhead added three in the next inning thanks to and RBIs by KD Kang, Charlie Valerio, and Brandon Tierney.
Kang scored the RedHawks’ final run in the bottom of the sixth with a solo home run.
RedHawks starter, Jose Almarante pitched seven scoreless innings before turning the ball over to the Fargo-Moorhead bullpen.
Things came off the rails in the eighth for Fargo-Moorhead when Yhoxian Medina committed three errors. Gary managed to score nine runs in the frame three coming off of Anthony Pacillo and six coming off of Richie Tate (3 earned).
Gary added three more in the ninth to bring the game to its final score, 12-5.
What’s Next?: The series concludes tomorrow on the celebration of Hawkeye’s birthday. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 pm.
