The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks edged the El Paso Diablos 3-1 with the help of Alex Caldera's 6.1 innings of shut-out ball from the mound.
The win gives the RedHawks the series taking three of four from the Diablos. Caldera gave up just three hits while striking out seven Diablos.
1B Marcos Rodriguez got things started for the RedHawks with an RBI single in the fourth that scored RF Jon Gaston. Fargo-Moorhead struck again in the eighth as 3B/SS Enrique Cruz singled home 3B Ryan Stovall to give the Red Hawks the 2-0 lead.
The Red Hawks scored again to pad the lead which came in handy as the Diablos tallied a run in the bottom of the ninth when PH Jonathan Cisneros singled home a run. Rodriguez had a nice game at the plate going 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run.
The ReHawks open a three-game series against the Amarillo Sox in Amarillo on Monday night. LHP Tony Butler will get his first start of the season for Fargo-Moorhead.
