RedHawks come up short against Goldeyes

FARGO — The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks put 15 runners on base, but could only push across two runs in a 6-2 loss to the Winnipeg Goldeyes on Wednesday night at Newman Outdoor Field.

Juan Fernandez and Jesus Lujano both finished 2-for-5 with two singles on offense for Fargo-Moorhead. Tripp Clark and Aidan Byrne both went 1-for-2 while working two walks.

Jose Sermo drove in the RedHawks’ only two runs with an RBI single in the fifth inning, bringing him to 100 RBIs on the season. The RedHawks single season mark is 103, set by Darryl Motley in 1996. 

Kyle Crigger made the start for the RedHawks, twirling his 10th quality start of the season. He finished with a line of six innings pitched, two earned runs on five hits and eight strikeouts. Those eight strikeouts are the most in a game for Crigger in 2026. 

RedHawks pitchers struck out 14 batters on the night, walking just two Goldeyes in the process.

Fargo-Moorhead moves to 49-46 on the season, while the Goldeyes climb to 53-42. The Kansas City Monarchs remain in first place, but only hold a two-game lead on Winnipeg. With Sioux City and Sioux Falls each winning tonight, the RedHawks are two games ahead of both fourth-place teams.

The RedHawks will look to escape with a series split on Thursday when they host the Goldeyes for their final home game of the 2026 regular season. First pitch at Newman Outdoor Field is set for 7:02 p.m.
